AI Tool Connections

Connect compatible AI tools to your Nobleway household so they can read (and optionally write) the same ledger you already keep in the app.

Before you start

1. Sign in to Nobleway.
2. Open Settings → Security → AI tool access.
3. Choose the household the connection may access.

Connections never use bank logins. They only see ledger data for the household you select.

Personal token

Use this when your AI tool accepts a static Bearer token in the client config.

1. Create a token (read-only, or read + write).
2. Copy the secret once when it is shown.
3. Paste the client config into your AI tool. Use the endpoint URL from Settings (it ends with /mcp), with:

Authorization: Bearer nw_mcp_<id>.<secret>

Write tokens ask for confirmation before saving changes, unless you create a trusted automation token. That includes creating or updating ledger rows and committing CSV, Excel, statement, or capture imports.

Revoke a token anytime from the same Settings panel.

Browser connection

Some AI tools connect with a browser login instead of a pasted secret:

1. Copy the endpoint URL from Settings → Security → AI tool access (it ends with /mcp).
2. In your AI tool, add a custom connector and paste that full URL as the server URL.
3. Choose the tool’s sign in option, sign in to Nobleway, pick a household, and approve access.

Default approval is read-only. You can allow writes during consent. Writes still require confirmation unless you opt into trusted automation later.

Safety

• Each connection is scoped to one household.
• You can revoke personal tokens and connected apps (OAuth grants) from Settings.
• Platform operators can disable AI tool access for everyone with a kill switch.
