What is Nobleway?
What Nobleway is, how the household ledger works, and what it does not do (no bank login scraping, no moving money).
How Nobleway Works at a Glance
Workspace isolation, participant privacy, zero bank scraping
Natural capture, manual entry, or statement CSV/Excel imports
Calculated from the records you confirm and the starting amounts you set
Net worth, exact math, conversational query with audit trails
Nobleway is a private place to keep your household financial history: accounts, daily transactions, card payments, loans, investments, and who in the family can see what.
You enter records yourself. Nobleway does not scrape bank logins or invent balances.
A workspace is the household ledger you share. Everything you record belongs to that workspace.
Core Principles
Every balance, monthly total, and summary is calculated from the records in your workspace. Nobleway does not guess your balances or approximate net worth. It adds and subtracts from verified transactions and the opening amounts you set.
You can type everyday sentences to capture spending, and you can ask questions about your history in plain English.
AI never writes directly to your ledger. Anything the AI extracts is a draft you review and confirm before it is saved.
Many tools count credit-card and loan activity twice. Nobleway avoids double-counting:
- Credit card payments: A card purchase is the expense. Paying the later bill is a transfer that reduces what you owe, not a second expense.
- Loan payments (EMI): Each installment is split into principal (the amount of the loan you pay down) and interest (the lender’s fee, recorded as an expense).
Nobleway does not connect to your bank accounts, store bank passwords, or pull live feeds. You choose how data enters the workspace: typing it, capturing it in plain language, or importing CSV and Excel statements.
You can invite household members to the same history while keeping some accounts private. Balances show only for accounts linked to a person’s profile.
You own your data. You can download complete or filtered history as CSV or Excel at any time.
What Nobleway Is Not
During public beta:
- Not a bank or payment processor: Nobleway cannot move money between institutions.
- Not a bank aggregator: It does not store bank passwords or sync feeds in the background.
- Not financial, investment, or tax advice: Charts and answers organize what you entered. They are not professional advice.
- Not a tax filing service: Nobleway does not prepare or file returns.
How Nobleway Works at a Glance
- Enter data your way: Record purchases with Natural-Language Capture, use the Recording Transactions form, or upload statements with Importing CSV & Excel.
- Review and confirm: Check dates, amounts, categories, and accounts before saving.
- See totals you can inspect: Use the Dashboard or Asking Questions. Every total is backed by the transactions that produced it.
